Cradleboards and the Contraption
Barbara Dahlstedt, CPSA, CPX (Friday Only)

Come discover the perks of why you should attach your work to cradleboard or wooden panels. Award-winning artist Barbara Dahlstedt demonstrates how small works can be mounted with just a few tools, then with the help of her husband and his invention “The Contraption”, they’ll show you how larger works are a piece of cake!

Lightfast Testing- Slow Process, Lasting Results
Seaton Ennis

Join Seaton Ennis, the Product Research Director of the CPSA, for a glimpse into how the CPSA conducts its lightfast testing. You’ll get a short history of how the ASTM standard for colored pencils came to be, get samples to grade yourself, and see up close the testing materials.

If you are looking for information about how to approach a gallery to have an exhibition, this is the place for you! Join the professionals from the Prescott Art Gallery at Yavapai College, Gallery Manager Timothy Hull and Exhibitions Coordinator Rhonda Gawthrop, to get inside information about what galleries are looking for when you apply.

How to Save Money on Custom Framing
Peggy Milovina Meyer

Learn how to get the best value, save money and time, make the right choices for gallery-ready art, and much more, from an experienced custom framer and colored pencil artist, Peggy Milovina Meyer.

The Value of Review
Dyanne Locati, CPSA, CPX

In each of the two sessions, Dyanne will critique 10 different works of art submitted by registered convention attendees. With limited time, the first ten to submit work for review will be chosen. Those who attend can observe how to identify what makes the work successful or how it can be improved. Details and instructions on how to submit your files and apply for a critique are included in a submission form available on July 7th 10 am PDT.
