Volunteer

CPSA survives and thrives because of its generous members who serve on the CPSA governing board and as officers of the district chapters. They volunteer their time and services because they believe in the organization and what it stands for. If you have an interest in offering your skills for any board positions, we would like to hear from you. For more information, please email the CPSA president. Positions on the national board include:

PRESIDENT
Supervises and directs daily operations and governing board in keeping with its current policies, procedures, and goals.

VICE PRESIDENT
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the documents, records, reports, and CPSA policies and procedures.

ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR
Responsible for a variety of tasks such as corresponding with district chapters to obtain award donations, tracking award and product donations, and overseeing non-financial CPSA accounts.

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Responsible for increasing awareness of CPSA and its activities in order to promote the colored pencil medium as a viable art form, broaden our membership base, and generate additional interest from companies dealing with art products.

CONVENTIONS DIRECTOR
Responsible for all aspects of planning and organizing the annual CPSA convention and spring board meetings as well as contracting with hotels and venues for other events.

CORPORATE RELATIONS DIRECTOR
Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with CPSA corporate members and other art manufacturers as well as obtaining monetary and product donations for CPSA programs, events, and awards.

CREATIVE IMAGE DIRECTOR
Responsible for the design and development of all published materials issued by CPSA to ensure a professional and consistent image.

DISTRICT CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Responsible for advising and assisting existing district chapters as well as helping with the formation of new chapters.

Wallflower, Tanja Gant, CPSA, CPX

EXHIBITIONS DIRECTOR
Responsible for all aspects of planning and organizing CPSA-sponsored exhibitions as well as contracting the services of jurors, galleries, and cartage companies.

FINANCE DIRECTOR
Responsible for managing CPSA funds, keeping full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements in records.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
Responsible for receiving dues and maintaining the CPSA database of members (address, phone, email address, etc.) and other parties with an interest in CPSA.

PRODUCT RESEARCH DIRECTOR
Responsible for conducting lightfastness tests, working to maintain the D6901 lightfastness standard for colored pencils, encouraging pencil manufacturers to comply with that standard, and providing product information to CPSA and its members.
