ArtSpectations Online Competition

The Colored Pencil Competition That's Open to All Artists

ArtSpectations is an annual online colored pencil art competition hosted by the Colored Pencil Society of America. Works should be either 100% colored pencil or predominantly colored pencil mixed with other media and have been completed after May 1, 2011.

ArtSpectations has one big difference from any other exhibition hosted by CPSA—there is no “jurying-in” process. Every entry that meets competition eligibility and criteria requirements is accepted and immediately viewable online.

The ArtSpectations website opens for entries on May 1 and entries close August 15.

Once the entry period ends, a judge reviews all the entries and selects award winners in both a CPSA Signature category and a Non-signature category. This provides an opportunity for all artists to compete against their peers. A $500 Best of Show prize is awarded in each category and several honorable mention awards are also announced.

ArtSpectations entries remain online until the next annual show entry period begins, so your art is viewable anywhere in the world for up to a year. When viewing individual entries, you'll see buttons at the page bottom where you can share and comment on Facebook, Twitter, Google, and many other social media outlets. Just click on the "Share" button to see all the options.

Details on criteria and how to enter are in the ArtSpectations Prospectus (PDF file).
